JIMENA addresses a very important issue:  On October 11th, 2013 the National Archives in Washington D.C. will open an exhibition titled, "Discovery and Recovery" that displays 24 restored Jewish objects taken by American forces from Sadaam Hussein's secret police headquarters in Iraq in 2003. These objects are part of a larger trove of over 2,700 Jewish books and documents that have been in the custody of the National Archives and Records Administration in Washington DC. According to an agreement between the US and Iraqi governments, the archive is slated to be returned to Iraq upon the completion of the exhibition.
