Hopes for a Two-State Solution - Jonathan S. Tobin (Commentary) The reason why a clear majority of Israelis supported Netanyahu and parties likely to back him was that few of them believe there is any reasonable hope for a two-state solution in the foreseeable future. They were convinced of the danger of further territorial concessions by the actions of the Palestinians and the culture of hatred for Israel and Jews that pervades their society.

Text: What Exactly Did Netanyahu Say about a Palestinian State? Ariel Cahana (NRG-Hebrew-16March2015) In an interview on Sunday with the Hebrew website NRG, Prime Minister Netanyahu was asked if his Bar-Ilan speech was still relevant. Netanyahu responded: "I think that anyone who is going to establish a Palestinian state today, and to withdraw from territory, is giving territory that enables attacks by radical Islam against the State of Israel. This is the true reality that has developed here in recent years. Whoever ignores this is sticking his head in the sand....We are realists and understand."

CNN Errs on Israel Again (CAMERA) In a discussion about the CNN documentary “Finding Jesus,” a guest used the erroneous phrase “first century Palestine.” Typically for CNN, host Carol Costello was either unaware of or unwilling to correct the error. The phrase “first century Palestine” reinforces the false narrative that the ancestors of today’s Palestinian Arabs, supposedly the Philistines, preceded the Jews in the land. In fact, the land became widely known as “Palestina” after the Romans defeated the rebellious Jews in the second century, changing the Jewish name for the land, Judea --naming it for the ancient enemy of the Jews, the Philistines-- to punish the Jews and to make an example of them to other peoples considering rebellion.
