Dubai Security Chief: Independent Palestinian State Would Be Another Failed Arab State - Maayan Groisman (Jerusalem Post)The Head of General Security for the Dubai Emirate, Lt.-Gen. Dahi Khalfan Tamim, stated on Twitter on Monday that a Palestinian state led by Arabs would join the list of failed states in the Arab world. In light of what he described as Arab incompetence in running a state and the distinguished economic talents of Jews, Tamim claimed that a joint Jewish-Palestinian state will only prosper under Israeli leadership. He added, "We should not treat Jews as our enemies. We should treat them as cousins with whom we have a controversy over land inheritance."

Why It Doesn't Matter What Israel Does - Jonathan S. Yet the Palestinians were not interested. There is now a consensus that stretches across party lines in Israel about the lack of a peace partner.

Egypt
Improved Israeli-Egyptian Relations Have Not Yet Reached the Street - Prof. Eyal Zisser (Israel Hayom) Both Israel and Egypt are tackling the spread of Islamist extremism, spearheaded by the Islamic State's Sinai branch. Both believe the fight against ISIS in Sinai necessitates confronting Hamas in Gaza. However, the improved diplomatic and security relationship between the countries still has not trickled down to the street. A large portion of the Egyptian public still exhibits open hostility toward Israel in an almost Pavlovian manner.

Thursday night I attended Hunan Rights Seiminar: EU Migration and Asylum Policies...I learned that the fundamental principles of the EU include “Freedom of Movement” and “Preserving Fundamental Freedoms & Rights.” These rights include asylum and family reunification. I thought it interesting that one of the first things the panelists seemed to agree on was the need to reinforce the borders (of the EU, not between states). It made me think of The Donald. Also, it seems they're using the phrase “irregular migrants” instead of illegals. And they want to deport irregular migrants, but not refugees.

Europe
Moderate "European" Islam: Stemming Terror with Band Aids - Judith Bergman (Gatestone Instiute) Encouraging Muslims toward a more moderate "European" Islam is an old idea, but has not yet succeeded in practice anywhere in Europe and its specific nature remains largely undefined. Qatar and Saudi Arabia, where the official form of Islam is Wahhabism, are the main financiers of mosques in Europe. Wahhabism discourages Muslim integration in the West, but actively encourages jihad against non-Muslims. Qatar has financed mosques in France, Italy, Ireland and Spain, among other places, thus spreading Wahhabism across the continent.
