 ➤On the day that Edan Alexander was released, Hamas told Matan Zangauker to prepare for his release, too. Hamas has now released a video suggesting Matan is still alive but will be returned in pieces.
➤Bodies of 2 deceased hostages, Yair Yaakov and Aviv Azili, have been recovered in a joint IDF and ISA military operation. Yair was brutally murdered by gunfire while heroically holding the door of the safe room in his home, trying to protect his family. His children, Yagil and Or, were kidnapped along with his partner, Meirav Tal. All of them returned to Israel in November 2023. Aviv Azili was kidnapped alive from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7th. He was an artist and is survived by his wife Liat and three children.

Summary: President Trump’s Middle East trip resulted in billions of dollars in deals, including arms and tech for Saudi Arabia. It did nothing to curb Qatar’s influence on media or on campuses, and did not result in a deal with Iran to curb its nuclear ambitions nor its support for terrorists. There is a new in-depth report on Hamas’ “Human Shield Strategy.” Hamas and the Taliban each released one American hostage. Hamas still holds 58 captives and continues to reject any hostage deal. Hamas praised Canada, France, and the UK for threatening Israel. Hostage Update: It's been 593 days too many. 
At least 20 are believed to be alive and in desperate condition. Edan Alexander’s release was apparently secured through a secret backchannel between the U.S. and Hamas, brokered by Palestinian-American businessman Bishara Bahbah, chair of “Arab Americans for Trump.” Aid renewal to Gaza was part of the deal to free Alexander. Hamas continues to reject a new hostage deal.

HOSTAGE UPDATE
It's been 584 days too many.  Hamas released the last living American hostage held in Gaza, Edan Alexander! It appears the deal to release Edan was reached without the participation of the Israelis, “without conditions or anything in exchange.” He was tortured, held in a cage with his hands and legs tied up. He was not given food for most of his captivity until the last couple of months before his release. On Saturday, Hamas released a video featuring hostages Elkana Bohbot and Yosef Haim Ohana to toy with the families of the hostages.

The United Nations Security Council issued its typical condemnation about the attack, even for the highly contested Kashmir region.
