The purpose of this blog is to provide broader understanding of conditions in the Middle East, including how events there impact us. On a weekly basis, I will be culling the news for stories you might have missed and assembling the links here.

Often the major news sources will omit important stories or publish stories without all of the facts or even publish stories with falsehoods. Additionally, I've found that if you look for it, there is so much information, it's overwhelming. Hopefully this blog will help you sort through it, provide information you didn't see elsewhere, and keep you updated.

If you want more information, just click the links I've included with each posting. In addition to sources cited, I often choose articles from the Daily Alert at www.dailyalert.org
