In a recent interview on Charlie Rose, Sergey Lavrov, foreign minister of Russia, indicated that resolution of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict might have a positive affect on conflicts in the region, despite agreeing that the current Arab Spring/Autumn has nothing to do with it. Claims that peace is possible are hard for me to figure. Just look at the palwatch.org website for details. Senior Palestinian Authority-Fatah leaders, including Prime Minister Salam Fayyad (who is often described as a "moderate"), consistently promote the destruction of Israel and present the aspiration to die for "Palestine" as a goal for children.
