What Caused the Turkish Protests? - Ihsan Dagi  (Zaman-Turkey) Protests erupted when the government sought to demolish Gezi Park in the center of Istanbul and build a shopping mall and luxurious residences. Now Erdogan says he will build a mosque in Taksim.
