On the anniversary of the October 7th massacre, support your neighbors

In the late 1930’s, as the Nazis came to power, they threatened and brutalized mostly Jews, and also homosexuals, the handicapped, and more. Most Germans supported their efforts or did little to stop it. We didn’t learn of the extent of the horrors they committed and see the films the Nazis made until after the war. New words were created to describe the experience (genocide, holocaust). To this day, there are still some Americans who support the Nazi efforts.

In the Gaza conflict, we didn’t have to wait. The invading Palestinian terrorists live streamed their atrocities. We saw their own videos of the abduction of women and children (including Shiri, Ariel and Kfir Bibas), their parade of partially clad dead bodies through the streets filled with cheering crowds (including Shani Louk), and the beheadings (including Somkuan Pansa-ard). New words were created to try to describe the horror (kinocide). Before Israel had even begun to respond, their supporters across America falsely accused Israel of genocide (https://gazagenolie.com/). To this day sources thought to be reliable (e.g. CNN and Wikipedia) refer to the attackers as Hamas fighters not terrorists.

Despite overwhelming evidence of the UNs involvement, (https://unwatch.org/unrwa-terror-network/) nations are still sending millions of dollars to UNRWA. And there are people across America that support the terror attack. As October 7th 2026 approaches, Hamas remains armed and in control of Gaza, and there are hundreds of anti-Israel and antisemitic events planned across the country celebrating the “Al-Aqsa Flood” (Hamas’ name for the attack) and using terms like “Free Palestine” while they celebrate the slaughter of Jews.

We, our country’s leadership, editors, and influencers can help put an end to this bigotry and hate, condemn it and condemn the perpetrators. On this October 7th, I will remember those who were lost and the resilience of those who survived. What will you do?
