There are 24 hostages presumed to be alive who are still held by Hamas.
Hamas has refused to release the hostages. The ceasefire has ended after the terror group rejected multiple U.S. offers, accepted by Israel, to extend the ceasefire deal and free the 59 hostages it is holding captive in Gaza. Israel has detected signs that Hamas is preparing to launch a new attack against Israel. There are reports of massive Israeli airstrikes on terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip.
